Foreign investors are prepared to locate production in Russia, and international forums provide an opportunity to tell the potential investors about the advantages of Russian territories and industrial sites. This year only Titanium Valley of all Russia’s special economic zones used the unique chance to make itself known at such prominent industrial fair as the Hannover Messe.
On 10 April Deputy Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Region Government Alexey Orlov and General Director of Titanium Valley SEZ OJSC Artemiy Kyzlasov had very busy schedules. Within the framework of the Russian display, Titanium Valley SEZ managing company together with delegation of the Sverdlovsk Region Government and the German partners held a discussion session. Alexey Orlov emphasized in his speech that the Titanium Valley SEZ project is one of the most significant priorities in the region’s development. He was supported by Vadim Tretyakov, Deputy Director of the SEZ and Project Financing Department of the RF Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Mr. Tretyakov stated that Titanium Valley SEZ was created with the experience and mistakes of other Russian special economic zones taken into account, and therefore we can say that its operating system is close to ideal.
Afterwards Alexey Orlov had a meeting with Eveline Lemke, Minister of Economy, Environment Protection, Power and State Planning of Rheinland-Pfalz Federal Land, and a reliable partner of Titanium Valley SEZ. Mrs. Lemke promised that enterprises of Rheinland-Pfalz will visit Yekaterinburg in 2014 to participate in Innoprom International Exhibition. Moreover, she made an inquiry for detailed information on the Titanium Valley Special Economic Zone construction project in order to distribute it among German business people. According to her, support of this project by the regional authorities at the level of the Governor is a good sign for German entrepreneurs and a serious argument in favor of cooperation.
Representatives of the SEZ management met with Dietmar Kreiser, Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at Eaton Diversified Industrial Corporation. The company is intending to fulfill a project in Russia and is interested in receiving a maximum of information about the Sverdlovsk Region and conditions of cooperation with the Urals SEZ.
“This is a very serious company with headquarters in the USA”, Artemiy Kyzlasov commented on the meeting, “Now they are gathering information in order to decide which region will be the most profitable and convenient in terms of enterprise location. We have made a presentation of Titanium Valley SEZ to the company, and agreed to meet once again in Yekaterinburg to discuss the cooperation opportunity in more detail”.
Plans for signing of a cooperation agreement were discussed in the meeting with Daniel Gottschald, General Director of the Bavarian Chemical Cluster. The Germans offered an initiative on establishing of scientific and business connections between the SEZ and the Chemical Cluster, and offered assistance in development and fulfillment of joint projects in the area of scientific developments commercialization. Besides, they stated their readiness to take part in the Cluster’s participants and partners’ attraction to Titanium Valley SEZ. Such cooperation promises to be efficient, especially considering the fact that the Bavarian Chemical Cluster includes over 250 small and medium-size chemical industry enterprises and scientific establishments producing a wide range of goods from agricultural chemicals to polymers and pharmaceuticals.

Chemie-Cluster Bayern GmbH (Innovative Bavarian Chemical Cluster, Munich, Germany)
The Bavarian Chemical Industry Cluster includes 250 small and medium-size chemical industry enterprises and scientific establishments. Such global companies as Wacker Chemie and Süd-Chemiе, Evonik, BASF and Clariant find themselves on the Cluster territory, and are represented not only by production facilities, but also by research and development centers.
