Titanium Valley at the Russia-Kazakhstan Forum
Guests of the meeting have been acquainted with the largest regional investment project.

On 9 - 11 November 2013, Ekaterinburg hosted the Х Forum for Inter-regional Cooperation between the Russian Federation and Republic of Kazakhstan with participation of the heads of states - Vladimir Putin and Noursultan Nazarbaev.

Within the framework of the “Industrial cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan” exhibition, nine Russian regions and nine Kazakhstan Akimats have demonstrated their capabilities in the production sphere.

At the exposition stand of the Sverdlovsk region, the organizers presented major regional investment projects. Members of official delegations headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov and mayors (akims) of key regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan also acquainted themselves with the operations of the “Titanium Valley” special economic zone.

Samples of titanium products manufactured by the VSMPO-AVISMA corporation formed an impressive element of this exposition. There are plans to develop the project of machining titanium-alloy stampings for aviation applications in the territory of the special economic zone.

Presenting Titanium Valley to foreign guests, Andrey Antipov, Deputy Director General of the special economic zone, invited enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan to co-operate. ‘For residents of Titanium Valley, attractive conditions for doing business have been created - customs and tax benefits, a simplified system of interaction with state authorities, and infrastructure ready for use. Kazakhstan is famous for its production of construction materials - and this is one of the areas where we can co-operate”, commented A. Antipov.

In his turn, Alain Iskakov, the Chairman of the Board of Karaganda-Invest JSC, shared their experience of creating and operating the “Saryaka” special economic zone in Kazakhstan.
