On February 12th the Governor Evgeniy Kuyvashev was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the special economic zone of industrial production type “TitaniumValley”. Alexey Orlov, Deputy Chairman of Sverdlovsk Region Government, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Artemiy Kyzlasov, General Director of OJSC “SEZTitaniumValley”, was elected Executive Secretary of SEZ Supervisory Board.
“WithTitaniumValleywe hesitated a lot at the very beginning. Of course, there were some external reasons for such hesitation. And above all, it was due to lack of financing. Now, having received financial help from the federal centre, we must accelerate all preparation stages”, noticed Evgeniy Kuyvashev.
The Governor emphasized: the project is of particular importance for the Sverdlovsk Region, for it plays a leading role in the formation of its metallurgical agglomeration.
The Governor highlighted, “There is a number of big industrial cities with the total population of five hundred thousand people. Implementation of the project will enable us to create at least nine thousand new high-tech working places, although I stick to the opinion that we shall strive to increase this number, diversify single-profile economies of such cities as Nizhny Tagil, Verkhnyaya Salda and Nizhnyaya Salda, and fulfill the tasks assigned to us by the RF Presidential Decrees announced in May”.
Evgeniy Kuyvashev has formulated the following task: the first SEZ residents must start operating in 2013.
