SEZ "TITANIUM VALLEY" HAS BEEN RATED AMONG THE WORLD’S BEST SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES IN “GLOBAL FREE ZONES OF THE YEAR 2017”
Foreign Direct Investment Intelligence (FDI) magazine - a division of Financial Times - has published the annual rating of free economic zones in the world - Global Free Zones of the Year 2017. This year SEZ Titanium Valley for the first time appeared among the nominees of prestigious rating, along with other successful Russian SEZs - "Alabuga", "Lipetsk" and "Togliatti". In total, the magazine distinguished 57 free zones worldwide.

Ural SEZ gained recognition in two nominations. It is recognized as the only free zone in the world specializing in metallurgy:

"SEZ" Titanium Valley" includes production of almost all stages of metalworking process: from forging to machining. Rich work experience gives many opportunities for cooperation to potential investors, while the income tax rate is only 3%," - the magazine writes.

In addition, "Titanium Valley" heads the list of SEZs that managed to attract the largest investors in 2017. Foreign edition marked project of Ural Boeing Manufacturing - the joint production plant of Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA corporations. UBM, which received status of a resident this year, will launch production in the first half of 2018. Along with Russian zone other SEZs were marked in this category: Brazilian SEZ was marked for BMW Moto project, Lithuanian  - for project of US company United Parcel Service, and SEZ from Serbia was marked for project of Japanese corporation Yazaki.

Three more Russian SEZs were included in rating of Global Free Zones 2017. "Alabuga" - one of the most successful zones, was also awarded in two nominations: "Large tenants in Europe" and for expansion of Hayat Kimya project. Two references were given to SEZ "Lipetsk" - for localization of industrial project from China and for award from the Federal Customs Service of Russian Federation. FDI also marked Togliatti Special Economic Zone as "one to watch" for its impressive successes in the period from 2015 to 2016.


International rating of economic zones “Global Free Zones of the Year” annually assesses all types of investment projects around the world: special economic zones, export processing zones, free ports, etc. Annually experts estimate work of approximately 50 zones from around the world in different nominations. In each of the nominations, winners within four regions of the world are selected: North and South America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and two of them become global champions. In 2017, the absolute leaders of the Global Free Zones of the Year were the UAE free zones - DMCC Free Zone and Jebel Ali Free Zone.

SEZ "Titanium Valley" is one of ten industrial-production type SEZs in Russia. At the same time, Titanium Valley has the most attractive taxation conditions among all special economic zones in the country. Priority industries are production of products from titanium, production of components and equipment for metallurgy, oil and gas engineering; space and aircraft industries, production of medical products and construction materials.

Date of establishment - December 2010. Co-founders of OJSC "SEZ" Titanium Valley " are Government of Sverdlovsk Region and JSC" Special Economic Zones ". As of January 2017, 2,832 million rubles were actually financed (federal budget - 1,000 million rubles, regional budget - 1,832 million rubles).

Currently there are 14 residents in the Titanium Valley SEZ: “Mikromet”, “VSMPO-Novye Tekhnologii”, “Inferkom-Ural”, “PRAXAIR Titanium Valley” (“PRAXAIR”), “Ural Optical Plant”, “Sinersis”, "AS-Prom", "Stroydel-Composite", "Zibus", "Instrument manufacture Minicat", “NordBasalt”, “Ural Boeing Manufacturing”, "STOD-URAL" and "Rusmed".
